DESCRIPTION:Speaker:  Molly Huddle\n\nOlympian and American Record holder for 10K (30:13)\n\n \n\nWe're once again partnering with the Virginia 10-Miler Committee to bring you the launch of 10 Miler festivities with this keynote. \n\n\n\nThis year's lunch speaker\, two-time Olympian Molly Huddle\, holds the American Record for 10K (30:13) and the American Record for the road 5k (14:50)\, a mark which currently ranks her as the second fastest U.S. female.\n\n\n\nIn her marathon debut this past November\, Molly Huddle placed third overall at the 2016 New York City Marathon. In addition to numerous USA and NCAA championship titles\, she won the 2015 US 10 Mile Championship Title\, setting a course record of 51:44.  Molly came in 8th in 5000 meters in 15:03 and 12th in the 10000 meters in 31:19 at the World Championships recently held in London.\n\n\n\nMolly grew up in Elmira\, New York and ran Track and Cross Country at Elmira Notre Dame High School. She was a 10 time All American at the University of Notre Dame. She currently lives and trains in Providence\, Rhode Island with her husband Kurt Benninger\, who is coaching New England Distance athletes as well as volunteer assistant coaching at Brown. She has been a Saucony athlete since 2007.\n\n\n\nAccording to Race Director Jeff Fedorko\, "this is the first time our event\, during my tenure\, will have a Special Guest that is currently one of the most competitive runners in the world. Recently she finished 8th at the World Championships (London) in the 10K and also competed in the 5k. We are beyond thrilled she is coming to Lynchburg for race weekend."\n\n \n\nThis special luncheon is open to men and women.  Cost for the luncheon is $25 for Alliance and Lynchburg Road Runners Club members and $35 general admission.  Reservations are required by September 15 so RSVP today by calling (434) 845-5966\, emailing info@lynchburgregion.org or registering online above.  Please remember that Alliance policy requires that reservations be billed unless canceled 48 hours prior to the event.
