SUMMARY:CASA of Central Virginia to Hold Final Shoe Sale Event
DESCRIPTION:CASA of Central Virginia will be holding its final CASA Shoe Sale fundraiser on Saturday\, April 30 at Heritage United Methodist Church\, 582 Leesville Road. Friday night's VIP shopping tickets are sold out. There are a limited number of Saturday morning VIP tickets left at $50 each. Those VIP shoppers get in the door at 8am and have a personal shopper to help them for 30 minutes. General admission is $5 cash at the door and starts immediately following the VIP shoppers at 8:30. Then at 9am and until the sale ends at 3pm\, admission is free. All shoes are $10 per pair. At 12 noon\, all shoes will be marked down to $5 per pair. All shoes are new-in-box\, women's styles donated by Consolidated Shoe Company. They range in style and come in sizes from 5 to 10 .\n\n\n\nThe decision to make this year's sale the final sale was not easy. The Board of Directors of CASA of Central Virginia discussed many options but ultimately decided to retire the event for several reasons. "Our organization has a small staff so planning four major fundraising events per year on top of everything else we do annually was really spreading our staff\, board\, and volunteers too thin. The Shoe Sale holds a special place in our hearts\, but it requires a lot of volunteers and is not as easily tied to our mission as our other events. It is also difficult to budget fundraising revenue when we do not always know how many shoes will be donated. We are so grateful for Consolidated Shoe Company's donation of shoes over the past 23 years. The funding from this event was our only source of fundraising revenue for many years." - Allison Stronza\, Executive Director of CASA of Central Virginia.\n\n\n\nThe CASA Shoe Sale was started in 1999 by Blair Moseley who was a board member with CASA of Central Virginia and Director of Operations at Consolidated Shoe Company. Blair passed away in 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. It was Blair's vision and hard work that brought the shoe sale to fruition and provided critical funding to the growing organization.\n\n\n\nFor more information about this year's sale\, visit cvcasa.org/casa-shoe-sale.
