DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a day of Living History at Patrick Henry's Red Hill on September 20th or 21st from 8:30am until 1:40pm. Descendants of Patrick Henry will chat with participants on the 21st and Award winning author Jenny L. Cote will be here on both September 20th and 21st to deliver a Creative Writing Workshop. Cote developed an early passion for God\, history and young people\, and beautifully blends these passions together in her two fantasy fiction series\, The Amazing Tales of Max and Liz® and Epic Order of the Seven™. Likened to C.S. Lewis by book reviewers and bloggers\, Jenny provides creative writing workshops at schools and universities around the country and abroad. \nThis program is geared towards children ages 8 to 10 years old\, although children of all ages may benefit from the hands-on experience of 18th century life. Projected programs to be conducted every 30 minutes are chosen from the following: spinning and weaving\, basket making\, candle making\, blacksmithing\, colonial medicine practices\, rope making\, butter making\, pottery\, and a visit with veteran interpreter Patrick Henry. There will be a break for lunch\, so pack a picnic. Picnic tables are available on the grounds\, but seating is limited so bring a blanket or lawn chair.\nThe cost of the Homeschool program is $3 per child\; $5 per adult - Advance Registration Required (space is limited). Registration confirmation and details will be returned via email as space is available\, so respond early!
