DESCRIPTION:Old Dominion Job Corps is hosting the quarterly Community Breakfast Meeting\, Tuesday\, March 18th\, beginning promptly at 8:30 am. Breakfast will be held in the Dining Room\, Old Dominion Job Corps\, 1073 Father Judge Road\, Monroe\, VA 24574. Coffee will be ready at 8:15 am\, so plan to arrive early\n\n \n\nFebruary was Career Technical Education month. Career and Technical Education (CTE) is a program that helps students develop practical skills and knowledge for a variety of careers. Old Dominion celebrates CTE everyday with current students and we share information with potential new candidates. The quarterly breakfast gives us an opportunity to share Center news\, dormitory renovation updates and new programs being implemented at OD. Our guests\, partners\, civic leaders\, neighbors\, Workbase Learning site personnel and friends are encouraged to attend and to invite a friend or coworker. There will be a Special Guests Speaker to discuss the importance of CTE. Our breakfast gives us the opportunity to spread the word about Job Corps and increase the number of youth we can reach to inform about the program opportunities. The Lynchburg/Amherst County area has an increasing number of youth who are eligible for the program.  Enrolling students from our area is beneficial for our community. Once these area youth have completed their training\, they return to OUR community as auto mechanics\, Certified Nursing Assistants\, Certified Medical Assistants\, Pharmacy Technicians\, electricians\, plumbers\, carpenters\, painters\, Security Officers\, living here\, paying taxes and being productive citizens. \n\n \n\nWe are looking forward to you having breakfast and visiting our trades while you are on Center. \n\n \n\nPlease RSVP to Jackie Eggleston\, eggleston.jackie@jobcorps.org before Friday\, March 14th to reserve your seat at the table and help us ensure the number of guests to prepare for.
