DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wanted to explore Point of Honor by candlelight? Now's your chance! On Friday\n\nand Saturday\, November 2 and 3\, the Lynchburg Museum System will present A Point in\n\nHistory\, special nighttime tours of Point of Honor\, 112 Cabell Street. The theme of this year's\n\ntour is "The Civil War at Home   Life at Point of Honor\, 1862-1865."\n\nDuring the Civil War\, Point of Honor was owned by Robert Owen and his wife Narcissa\, who\n\nwas the daughter of Thomas Chisholm\, the last hereditary war chief of the Western Cherokee.\n\nThe Owens resided at Point of Honor with their two sons from 1862 until 1870. They left Point\n\nof Honor when Robert Owen was forced to resign from his position as president of the Virginia\n\nand Tennessee Railroad.\n\nTickets for A Point in History are $5 per person\, sold on a first come first sever basis. Tours will\n\nbe offered every half hour beginning at 5:00 p.m. with the last tour starting at 8:00 p.m. both\n\nevenings\, with a maximum of 12 people per tour. In addition to exploring the house\, tour\n\nparticipants can make their own hand dipped candle and enjoy refreshments in the Carriage\n\nHouse. Advance tickets may be purchased at the Point of Honor Gift Shop (112 Norwood Street)\n\nand at the Lynchburg Museum (901 Court Street).\n\nPoint of Honor was built in 1815 by the Cabell family. It has been beautifully restored and is\n\nnow a Virginia Historic Landmark on the National Register of Historic Places.
