SUMMARY:Read for the Record -
DESCRIPTION:Read for the Record is a national literacy event. It is the one day of the year when people unite to read the same book to children at roughly the same time. Smart Beginnings coordinates this event in Central Virginia. Last year\, 4\,000 children had the book Otis read to them. This year\, we hope to read Bunny Cakes\, by Rosemary Wells\, to 4\,200 children. You can help us achieve this goal by volunteering to read to a child or group of children on October 21st. We will place volunteers in participating classrooms and provide all the information and materials needed for a smooth and fun event!
