SUMMARY:Ribbon Cutting: Focus Point Mental Health's 23 Hour and Residential Crisis Stabilization Unit
DESCRIPTION:Focus Point Mental Health Services and Lighthouse are pleased to announce the opening of the Residential Crisis Stabilization Unit ribbon-cutting ceremony set for March 10\, 2023 at 11:00 am.\n\nFocus Point is located on the second floor of the Lighthouse Community Center at 1310 Church Street\, downtown Lynchburg. The RCSU is located at 903 Craddock Street. A brief ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 11:00 am and broadcast via Facebook Live.\n\n\n\nThis voluntary program will provide a safe and supportive alternative for diversion from hospital emergency departments or incarceration for individuals experiencing an acute behavioral health crisis. Our compassionate team of professionals provides one on one and group sessions\, substance use disorder and mental health assessments\, medication education\, and connections to community resources for increased support and to promote continued stabilization. The triage component supports three people for up to 23 hours\, while the stabilization component has three beds for a stay of between five and twenty days.\n\n\n\nThis program seeks to provide a safe environment in a home-like setting to relieve crisis symptoms\, with 24/7 support provided. Our interdisciplinary team of medical professionals\, Peer Support Specialists\, Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHPs)\, and therapists are focused on working with patients to establish goals promoting stabilization. Components of this program are modeled off of The Living Room Model which highlights peer support specialists working collaboratively with patients to assist with symptom relief.\n\nThe focus of this program is to enhance the quality of life\, build resiliency to behavioral health crises\, and restore and improve functioning. Focus Point Mental Health Services and this program strive to support successful integration back into the community with an increased level of function and productivity.
