Human Resources Coordinator

Foster Fuels is looking for a results and self-driven Human Resources Coordinator. The position supports a broad range of disciplines including recruitment, employee relations, and acts as an employee advocate with upper management for all Foster Fuels locations. The Human Resource Coordinator ensures their work is conducted in accordance with federal and state regulations, company policy, and practices to ensure that requirements are followed. This role provides administrative support to human resource functions as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry and reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides assistance by answering employee requests and questions
  • Provides technical support, administration and reporting on HRM system
  • Manages FMLA policy by keeping accurate records and maintains all FMLA, other medical information and workers compensation files
  • Assists with processing of employee change of statuses, including new hires, salary adjustments, change of addresses, departmental changes, etc.
  • Completes and submits first report of injury to insurance broker upon request
  • Advises supervisors and managers on policy interpretation and administration including corrective action when required
  • Assist with maintaining emergency driver pipeline to resource candidates during an emergency services deployment
  • Assists with providing research for policies, training, strategic planning, and other human resource related issues
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation with eVerify, and maintains I-9 files
  • Submits on-line investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks and drug screens
  • Prepares new employee files and files documents into appropriate employee files
  • Provides support on projects and implementations as assigned

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of previous HR experience in a corporate environment including recruiting, on-boarding and compliance
  • Familiar and knowledgeable with legal and legislative requirements of Human Resources
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with HRIS/TAQ software and system administration
  • Strong problem solving skills including investigations and corrective actions
  • Exceptional organizational skills required
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Powerpoint required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong math skills required

Preferred Skills:

  • SHRM-CP strongly preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
