Bower Center’s 2nd Biennial Fiber Arts Exhibit – Final Call!

Calling all fiber artists! Join the Bower Center for the Arts as we host our 2nd Biennial National Fiber Arts Exhibit beginning in July. The entry deadline is May 12.

In 2019 the Bower Center for the Arts hosted its first Fiber Arts National Juried Fiber Arts Exhibition. It was such a success the Center decide to make it a biennial exhibit. Fiber artists from as far away as Washington state, Arizona, Michigan and Florida were among the entries from ten different states. Forty-two works were accepted from the eighty-seven submitted. Virginia fiber artist, Sarah Entsminger received Best in Show for Rain at Sunrise.

This year nationally and internationally recognized Virginia fiber artist, Paula Golden, will be the juror/judge for the 2nd Biennial Bower Center National Fiber Arts National Juried Exhibition that will be held July 7-August 21. Awards will be presented on Friday, July 16.

This exhibit includes all forms of fiber art: functional, wearable, and fine art, original in concept and design, and must not have been created in a class/workshop, or from a kit, or been in a previous juried exhibit art Bower Center.

The deadline for entry is fast approaching. Artists may enter online at or download the Call for Artist from the website and turn in a paper entry with a CD or flash drive with the entry files. Notification of acceptance will go out to the artists by June 9.

The Bower Center’s 9th Annual National Juried Exhibit (all-media) will be installed for viewing beginning May 18 through June 30. The National Fiber Arts Exhibit will follow this nationally recognized exhibit in early July.
