Brown Edwards is Co-Sponsor For AICPA’s PCPS George Willie Ethnically Diverse Student Scholarship
| Brown Edwards has been selected as a co-sponsor of the 2024 Private Companies Practice Section (PCPS) George Willie Ethnically Diverse Student Internship and Scholarship Program. As one of the ten firms selected by AICPA, we will be sponsoring one student for an internship during the 2024 tax preparation season. The George Willie program provides a paid internship and scholarship to ten, ethnic minority accounting students who intend to pursue CPA licensure and have an interest in working with a public accounting firm. Each student receives up to $10,000 (USD) toward their final academic year tuition from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). “We are honored and very excited to have been chosen as one of the firms in the George Willie Scholarship Program this year. This program was created in honor of George Willie, CPA, CGMA, a former chair of AICPA’s PCPS Executive Committee and the AICPA Minority Initiatives Committee. During his more than 35-year career, Willie has promoted the benefits of a career in accounting to students and young professionals in pursuit of the CPA license. The program is open to ethnic minority students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting or an accounting-related major.
