March 24, 2019 | CONCORD, VA – Historic flooding across Midwest states have left Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin in declared states of emergency.  Iowa’s governor has issued a disaster proclamation. Thousands of families have been displaced from their homes and preliminary damage estimates are in the millions.
Nebraska’s governor Pete Ricketts has referred to this flooding as “…the most widespread disaster in our state’s history.”
The Midwest needs our help.
Gleaning For The World is responding to urgent requests for help by sending 2 tractor trailers filled with thousands of blankets. This will be followed by additional truckloads of aid including nonperishable food, personal care items, baby supplies, pet food and supplies, and cleaning items.
We need the public’s help.
Gleaning For The World will also begin a collection at Sam’s Club on Ward’s Road starting Monday afternoon, March 25, from 1pm until 6pm, and will continue through the week, 10am until 6pm each day.
