ITG pinpoints necessary step to better assisting medical clients with HIPAA Security

MADISON HEIGHTS, Virginia, - February 5, 2019 – In an effort to better serve our medical clients, ITG recognized an important next step for Maleah Mortorff, Compliance Engineer, to take. Maleah Mortorff has completed the HIPAA Security and HIPAA Awareness Training for Business Associates Certification. This two-part certification has equipped Maleah to handle security and awareness of the HIPAA regulations and requirements that our medical clients encounter on a daily basis. The certification program utilized by Maleah was chosen because it is widely recognized for its efficient and effective HIPAA training.
ITG is committed to assisting our clients in whatever way possible to achieve their business goals. For many of our medical clients, HIPAA security is a major focus to that goal. When asked about her takeaways from the training, Maleah shared, “HIPAA compliance is never going to be a “one-and-done” solution. It requires continuous attention and monitoring because threats and violations can pop-up at any moment.” This certification exemplifies ITG’s steps towards being better partners for clients in all service sectors. We recognize that most medical organizations have a need for HIPAA compliance and that it can be challenging to create systems that work. With this new certification, our staff is better equipped to assist our medical clients in keeping a close eye on possible threats and violations.
The ITG team looks forward to integrating this new certification into our standing programs as well as using this key component to help create a new program that will walk clients through the process of all that HIPAA requires when it comes to security. Since privacy and security of health care information is an ongoing process, and often involves certain technical knowledge, we are seeking to partner with our clients even further to ensure that all safety regulations and requirements are met. This certification is just one step in an ongoing process to get our staff trained and the program on its feet. “We are committed to continuous learning and training in order to better serve our clients,” Maleah says. Maleah looks forward to continuing her training and finding ways to train other staff members. For now, she feels that this is an important stepping stone in the process and is encouraged by the value it adds to the systems of ITG clients.
