The Lynchburg City School Board unanimously approved a reallocation of funds from salary and benefits accounts to address needs ranging from facilities and maintenance to band uniforms during its meeting Tuesday night.
LCS Chief Financial Officer Anthony Beckles said the reallocation of$1,235,000 from salary and benefits operating accounts is a one-time expense. The money, he said, comes from positions left vacant when employees leave the division or replaced with a lower salary.
LCS will use the funds to purchase band uniforms for Heritage and E.C. Glass high schools as well as boost information technology and student services.
