The Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance Announces the 2019 Business Hall of Fame Inductees

The Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance is pleased to announce inductees into the 2019 Business Hall of Fame.  These inductees have significantly impacted business, industry and the community of the Lynchburg region in some significant manner, either through sustained superior accomplishment or through a specific important achievement. These individuals are and have been critical to our existing business landscape.
 
“Our 2019 Business Hall of Fame inductees continue the high standard set by last year’s inaugural class for hard work, vision and demonstrated commitment to the success of their respective companies and our region.  We are proud to recognize their contributions and impact at our Cocktails and Commerce gala on November 8,” said Alliance Chair Todd Hall.
 
The Alliance is pleased to announce the 2019 recipients:
  • William Curtis English and Edward Ralph (Red) English, Sr. (deceased), Edward Ralph English, Jr., and Beverley E. Dalton, English Construction
  • George W. Dawson, (retired) Centra
  • Bert F. Dodson, Sr. (deceased) and Bert F. Dodson, Jr.,  Dodson Pest Control
  • Watt R. Foster, Sr. (deceased) and Watt R. Foster, Jr., Foster Fuels
  • Amy G. Ray, (retired) Brown Edwards & Company
  • T.D. Thornton, (retired) Progress Printing Plus 
“In its second year, the Alliance’s Business Hall of Fame is honoring the business history of the region by recognizing inductees posthumously that have significantly advanced business through the generations as well as recognizing individuals that have a business and civic impact today. For some, their names are as recognizable as a leading household brand. For others, their work stands as a testament to their innovative thinking and never-say-never commitment to their business, industry and the community,” said Megan Lucas, Alliance CEO & Chief Economic Development Officer. 
 
These inductees will be honored at the Cocktails & Commerce Business Hall of Fame Dinner & Gala on Friday, November 8 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. at The Virginian Hotel.
