Please note that although individuals are eligible to serve another term, there is no guarantee that the individual will be reappointed.

Lynchburg City Council invites residents interested in serving on the School Board to complete an online application here. An applicant for a position on the Lynchburg School Board who is selected for an interview by City Council will be required to sign a consent form authorizing the City to obtain the applicant’s state and national criminal background records. The failure of an applicant to sign a consent form will disqualify the applicant for consideration of appointment to the School Board. A printable version of the application is also available on the website.

City Council will make appointments for three-year terms of office commencing July 1, 2020 and ending June 30, 2023.

A public hearing will be held on May 26, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber, City Hall, 900 Church Street to receive nominations for City Council’s consideration of appointment or re-appointment to the three School Board positions (one from each district).
