The events in recent weeks, from last week in Minneapolis and this weekend in our own community have rattled many. As the community leadership organization in our region whose mission is to strengthen individuals for personal, professional and community leadership, we can speak into what is happening with the goal of increasing positive influence and not allow negativity and darkness to win.
To that end, Leadership Lynchburg has put together a panel entitled “Candid Thoughts on Community Events” with LL alumni and community leaders with experience in the work of diversity, equity and opportunity.
We will talk candidly about why this is occurring, how we can impact the conversations and “what’s next” in terms of going beyond lip service.
Panel Members:
Aaron Smith, LL Alumnus and Dean of Students at University of Lynchburg
Stephanie and Anthony Andrews, LL Alumni and civic leaders
Leslie King, Equity and Engagement Consultant
Ethel Reeves, Director for Engagement, Equity, and Opportunity, Lynchburg City Schools
