Effective July 27, 2020, Virginia becomes the first state to implement COVID-19 workplace safety rules. Among other requirements, employers need to implement policies and protocols for the workplace, and train employees on the new rules by August 26. In this webinar, Gentry Locke partner, Todd Leeson,
will provide employers with an overview of the new rules with a focus on steps
employers need to take to be in compliance.
Todd Leeson has more than 30 years of experience in representing and advising Virginia employers. He regularly defends employment claims in Virginia courts and before agencies, including the EEOC, NLRB, DOL, and OSHA. Todd defends companies against alleged violations of Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FLSA, FMLA, and the NLRA. He drafts, enforces, and/or litigates non-compete agreements and executive employment contracts, and has considerable experience in representing management in labor union matters. Todd is rated "AV/Preeminent" by Martindale-Hubbell, was selected a Virginia Super Lawyer for Employment & Labor Law, and is repeatedly named one of the Best Lawyers in American Labor & Employment Law.
We will discuss the mandatory emergency temporary standard approved on July 15 by the VASHCB, its impact for many work environments in response to COVID-19, and what these regulations may mean for the future of business in Virginia.
