Young Artists at an Exhibition May 31st, 2015 3:00 pm Towns-Alumni Lecture Hall, Liberty University The Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra will conclude our thirty-second consecutive year with a full orchestra performance of Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky and Enigma Variations by Edward Elgar. In 1874, Mussorgksy composed a suite of ten character pieces inspired by the drawings and paintings of Viktor Hartmann, a young French artist. Taking a cue from the composer, the LSO is turning this model around to create art inspired by the music. As a special addition to the concert, we are partnering with students at T.C. Miller Elementary School for Innovation to showcase their art as a visual counterpart and backdrop for the music. We hope you will join us for the final performance of our 2014-2015 season, and will delight in both the musical and visual arts.
