Christine Vrooman, Co-Owner, Ankida Ridge Farm & Vineyards, LLC
Christine Wells Vrooman is the co-founder of Ankida Ridge Vineyards in Amherst, Virginia, a family-run winery in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains and a recognized ambassador for the Virginia wine industry. A former nurse and longtime manager of her family’s veterinary practice in Virginia Beach, she later transitioned into viticulture and the world of wine after a series of serendipitous events. Ankida Ridge is internationally recognized for its high-elevation Pinot Noir, which has helped elevate the reputation of Virginia wine. Christine enjoys sharing how a deep connection to nature, the practice of paying attention, and the importance of community can shape vision, balance, and purpose in today’s world. She is currently writing a memoir titled Terroir of a Dream, due for release in Fall 2026.
