About Us

Brain Injury Solutions (BIS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and adults with acquired brain injuries and their families across Virginia. BIS offers free, community-based case management, education, advocacy, and supportive services aimed at helping survivors rebuild their independence, improve their quality of life, and stay connected to their communities.

The services provided by BIS include individualized goal planning, resource coordination, life skills support, education, caregiver guidance, and community outreach. BIS meets clients where they are, including in their homes and communities, ensuring access regardless of transportation or geographical barriers.

Through trauma-informed, person-centered care, BIS addresses the long-term physical, cognitive, emotional, and social impacts of brain injury. The organization also engages in public education and partnerships to increase awareness, reduce stigma, and strengthen support systems for survivors.
