About Us

Camp Kum-Ba-Yah (CKBY), established in 1950 by the Cosby family to address the need for outdoor play, has evolved, offering year-round programming dedicated to empowering youth through nature-based education and welcoming the community to explore the woods. Today, CKBY Nature Center upholds its mission by offering scholarships and diverse programs, hosting over 600 children during summer day camp and over 400 children for school field trips. With 42 acres of preserved woodland, CKBY Nature Center offers various amenities and educational experiences, including gardening, hiking, fishing, zip-lining, archery, and swimming, while also being accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA) and the Association of Nature Center Administrators (ANCA). CKBY Nature Center stands as a testament to the transformative power of nature, inspiring and uniting communities while promoting environmental stewardship.
