Lynchburg Regional Airport (LYH) is a full-service Part 139 airport serving a four-county area surrounding the City of Lynchburg. It is comprised of Amherst County, Appomattox County, Town of Bedford, Bedford County, Campbell County, and the City of Lynchburg with a combined population of over 261,000. Classified as a primary, non-hub airport, Lynchburg Regional Airport is owned and operated by the City of Lynchburg. Regional carrier service is provided by American Airlines and starting March 24, 2026 with United Express Airlines. American Airlines serves direct flights to Charlotte International Airport, with up to six daily departures and arrivals on EMB145s. United Express Airlines will provide daily service to Washington Dulles International Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport. Total average annual budget is $6 million/year, which includes operating and capital as programmed in FAA approved ACIP & ALP.
