Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lynchburg Announces “Next Chapter” with New Headquarters and Plans for Dedicated Teen Center

Community support will be key to opening the doors of a new teen focused space at 2512 Langhorne Road, with a goal of welcoming teens by spring 2027.

LYNCHBURG, Va. The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lynchburg is preparing for its next chapter and is calling on the Lynchburg community to help make it possible.

On Tuesday, September 8 at 9:30 a.m., the organization will gather community leaders, partners, donors and supporters at its new headquarters at 2512 Langhorne Road to officially announce plans for a full scale teen center dedicated specifically to serving Lynchburg’s teens and launch the capital campaign that will help bring the vision to life.

An official ribbon cutting will take place once the Teen Center remodel is complete. First, the Boys & Girls Club needs the community’s help to get there.

The sooner the community gets involved, supports and invests, the sooner Lynchburg teens can walk through those doors.

With a goal of opening the teen center by the Spring 2027 semester, the organization is seeking community partners, businesses, donors and supporters who believe in creating more opportunities for local teens.

The planned teen center will provide a safe, dedicated after school environment designed around the needs of teenagers, with an emphasis on education, workforce development, resources and access to opportunities that prepare young people for their futures.

The expansion comes during a period of continued growth for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lynchburg. The organization recently launched its second Boys & Girls Club location at R.S. Payne Elementary School, expanding its ability to reach young people where they are.

Now, the new Langhorne Road headquarters creates an opportunity to take another significant step forward by developing a space specifically for teens.

Building More Than a Teen Center

A major focus of the new center will be connecting Lynchburg teens with the people, businesses and industries shaping the region’s future.

Through partnerships with local employers, educators and workforce development organizations, the Boys & Girls Club aims to expose teens to career pathways, practical skills, mentorship and opportunities that can help them envision and build their futures in the Lynchburg region.

The September 8 announcement will bring together representatives from education, workforce development, local businesses and community organizations to begin building those connections.

The Boys & Girls Club will also recognize Centra for its role in the building purchase and its continued commitment as a community partner, along with the donors, sponsors, board members and supporters helping make this next chapter possible.

New signage has already been installed at 2512 Langhorne Road by McBride Signs, marking the beginning of the organization’s transition into its new home.

The Next Chapter Starts with the Community

The vision is clear: a dedicated space where Lynchburg teens can feel safe, discover opportunities, develop skills and build meaningful connections with their community.

But opening the doors will require community investment.

The capital campaign launching September 8 will support the design and renovation work necessary to transform the new headquarters into a space equipped to serve local teens.

Once the campaign is successful and renovations are complete, the Boys & Girls Club looks forward to inviting the community back for an official ribbon cutting and, most importantly, welcoming teens through the doors.
