Celebrate our 5th Annual Fireworks on the Riverfront in Downtown Lynchburg
Saturday, July 5 | Riverfront Park | Music at 6PM | Fireworks at 9PM
Lynchburg, VA – June 30, 2025 — Downtown Lynchburg Association is proud to announce the return of Fireworks on the Riverfront, taking place on Saturday, July 5, at Riverfront Park. Now in its fifth year, this FREE community event has become a beloved summer tradition, drawing thousands to the heart of downtown for an evening of music, food, and spectacular fireworks.
Festivities kick off at 6:00 PM with live music from local favorite The Dundies and a lively beer garden serving up cold brews from Starr Hill, Three Roads, and more. Sip and relax as you enjoy the riverfront atmosphere, grab a bite from a variety of food trucks, and let the kids get creative with face painting. The evening ends with a bang as fireworks light up the riverfront sky at approximately 9:15 PM, capping off an unforgettable Independence Day celebration.
Event highlights include:
- Live Music: The Dundies performing from 6:00–9:00 PM
- Beer Garden: Featuring local brews from Starr Hill and Three Roads, plus ciders and domestics
- Food Trucks: Thai Naka, Downtown Cairo, Blackwater Coffee, Boonies, Moon Tea, Slice Versa, Coco Crissi, and Taste Jamaica
- Family Fun: Multiple face painters to delight kids of all ages, activities from Amazement Square
This year’s event is made possible by generous support from BWX Technologies (Title Sponsor), along with Mustaches for Kids, Delta Star, Inc., ABC-13 WSET, Genworth, City of Lynchburg, The Water Dog, WYYD-FM, WJJS-FM, Academy Center of the Arts, and Sunbelt Rentals.
Parking Information:
Downtown Lynchburg offers free parking on evenings and weekends, including on-street and surface lots. Please note: The Riverfront Lot will be closed for the event. Limited handicap parking is available on Jefferson Street and in all City lots. A downloadable parking map is available at downtownlynchburg.com/fireworks.
