City of Lynchburg and Mason Lane Entertainment Announce Event-Day Shuttle Service, Parking Plan for
LYNCHBURG, Va. – As the Lynchburg Amphitheater at Riverfront Park prepares to welcome its first season of events, the City of Lynchburg and operator Mason Lane Entertainment (MLE) have announced a coordinated parking and shuttle plan designed to support safe, efficient access for residents and visitors attending performances.
The new amphitheater is a key addition to the City’s riverfront, created to bring the community together through live music, entertainment, and shared experiences. With large crowds anticipated for select events, the City and its partners have developed a transportation strategy focused on accessibility and public safety.
Event-Day Shuttle Service
For events expecting high attendance, Mason Lane Entertainment will operate a shuttle service through Downtown Lynchburg before and after larger events. The service will provide convenient connections between public parking areas and the amphitheater.
Shuttle pickup and drop-off locations are positioned to ascend the hills of downtown to make travel to the venue easier for event guests. Specific stop locations will be clearly marked with temporary signage and are included on the Parking & Shuttle Route Map available at www.lyhamp.com/plan-your-visit/parking. Guests are advised to check the specific event’s webpage on the Lynchburg Amphitheater website to learn which events will include shuttle service and the hours the routes will be run. Shuttle service for the Community Concert on April 24 will only run after the event.
Those using taxi and rideshare services, including Uber and Lyft, are encouraged to utilize the designated drop-off and pick-up location at Jefferson Street and Horseford Street by requesting service to 1329 Jefferson Street. Drivers should follow the recommended route via Horseford Street (to get to Jefferson Street) and continue up Washington Street (toward Main Street). This routing is designed to support safe and efficient passenger access near the venue.
Public Parking Availability
All City-owned downtown public parking lots and parking decks will be available for amphitheater events. To support accessibility, a portion of the Riverfront Lot, located at 1000 Jefferson Street, will be reserved for handicap-accessible parking during live events.
Temporary Street Closure
To prioritize pedestrian safety, a portion of Jefferson Street between the Riverfront Lot (1000 Jefferson Street) and Jefferson Street Lot (1300 Jefferson Street) will be closed to traffic starting one hour before the gates open and reopen one hour after the event ends.
For the Amphitheater Ribbon Cutting and Community Concert on April 24, this portion of Jefferson Street will be closed from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
