About Us

Meals on Wheels of Greater Lynchburg, is a service designed to assist the homebound of all ages by providing them with a balanced, nutritious, hot meal (lunch) 5 days per week. The program is for those persons who cannot cook for themselves, have no one to cook for them and may be unable to leave their homes for meals. This can be due to short-term or long-term health issues, and length of service can vary according to need. This service allows people to stay in their homes, maintain some independence, and avoid living in costly institutions - a financial benefit to the client and the community.
