About Us
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
Center of Hope - The Center of Hope is a facility that serves those needing shelter in the Greater Lynchburg area with a men’s floor, women's and children’s floor, and family units designed to keep families together. Family Services for the community at large are also a part of our Center of Hope. Along with financial assistance, Family Services also supplies food, hygiene products, and other necessities.
We have a daily Community Feeding where anywhere from 75-125 individuals receive dinner.
The Salvation Army Angel Tree program provides Christmas gifts to children in need throughout Greater Lynchburg by sharing wish lists with community donors who purchase new clothing and toys.
