Budget Conferees Announced Last Week

Budget conferees were announced last week to resolve differences between the Governor’s introduced budget and those adopted by the House of Delegates and state Senate:

If Alliance members would like to provide an informed and thoughtful message on specific provisions of the budget bills and/or any particular business legislation, please contact John Putney and he can speak with you about how best to do so.  There are still a myriad of business and commerce-related/specific bills in play, many of which are in a committee of conference as well.  I am happy to provide a list of relevant bills still unresolved and conferees on those bills, so if members would like to contact them, again, please let me know.

The Alliance staff has been busy communicating with money committee members and staff in favor of Tuition Assistance Grant (TAG) and the Central Virginia Training Center (CVTC) as well as state-chamber led legislation SB 861 (Mason), which is a small business health benefits consortium bill that passed 57-41.  We have weighed in again on Minimum Wage and Collective Bargaining legislation.
