Christmas Open House -
The annual Christmas Open House and book signings with authors Mark Couvillon and Patrick Daily will be held at Patrick Henry's Red Hill on Sunday, December 7, 2014 from 2 to 4 p.m. The Patrick Henry Auxiliary sponsors this event and cordially invites the public to attend; admission is complimentary. Guests will be treated to interpretations of the historic buildings at Red Hill, including Patrick Henry's house, Law Office, and other buildings decorated by the Red Hill Garden Club. There will also be demonstrations of flax to linen, spinning and weaving, blacksmithing, and limited children's activities. Enjoy Christmas carols, hot mulled cider, homemade cookies, and Brunswick stew. The gift shop will be offering a 10% discount on its regular shop merchandise. Authors Mark Couvillon and Patrick Daily will be signing their new publications on Patrick Henry in the Museum Shop. Couvillon's new work, "The Demosthenes of His Age" and Daily's revised work, "Patrick Henry: The Last years 1789-1799" were both released last fall. Patrick Daily was the Director of the Patrick Henry Memorial Foundation from 1977 to 1988; and Mark Couvillon, curator of Patrick Henry Memorial Foundation and Patrick Henry scholar, works as an interpreter at Colonial Williamsburg.
