The exciting line-up features:
David Sickmen will play from his voluminous catalog of originals. David is a founding member of the internationally known Hackensaw Boys, the transformational string band that formed in 1999 in central Virginia. The band has drawn on many musical influences and is known for their rowdy, energetic live shows that mix bluegrass and old-time with a punk attitude. They have performed at Bonnaroo, Lockn', FloydFest, and the All Good Music Festival, as well as appearances at European music festivals such as Pukkelpop in Belgium and Bergenfest in Norway. After touring in the US this summer, David will leave to tour Europe and the UK in the fall.
Virginia singer/songwriter Paddy Dougherty performs a mix of jazz standards, commanding originals, and uplifting folk tunes on piano and guitar. Paddy, known regionally as the voice of the award-winning band Mainstreet Rhythm & Blues, also spent time on the road as a backup singer for national bluesman David Bromberg. She had several of her songs fully orchestrated by legendary arranger Charles Calello, and performed in concert with the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra and Rita Coolidge. For five years, she toured as a songwriter with Kid Pan Alley, writing hundreds of songs with thousands of children. Paddy will be performing with her trio.
The Holcomb Rock Quartet blends traditional bluegrass with a modern twist for an unforgettable musical experience. A regional favorite, the band’s unique sound incorporates newgrass, swing and gypsy. You will not be able to sit still!
Hailing from central Virginia, Chris Hammock’s music draws inspiration from the hard work and dedication of blue-collar jobs, evening strolls, and life’s experiences. With an early fascination for words and sound, Chris began to craft the art of creative writing and melodies. Influenced by artists like Christopher Cross and Chris Stapleton, he seamlessly blends beautiful vocal harmonies with the enchanting sounds of his acoustic guitar in his original compositions and his extensive repertoire of hit cover songs.
