Old Dominion Job Corps Center will hold its quarterly Workforce Council Advisory meeting on Thursday, September 12, 2024, beginning promptly at 8:30 am in the CTE training conference room at 1073 Father Judge Road, Monroe, VA 24574.
 
Old Dominion trades are auto (general service technicians), building construction technicians, electrical wiring, carpentry, painting, plumbing, certified nursing assistant, medical assistant, pharmacy technician, and security trades.
 
You are invited to participate as an advisor to one of our campus trades. 
The Workforce Council is comprised of representatives and employers who have substantial management, hiring, or policy responsibility, the ability to assist with job development and employability activities, and the willingness to express their opinions. You represent businesses with employment opportunities where students seek employment.
 
In all of these areas, we depend on you, our Trade Advisors, to help ensure our students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to be successful in their chosen fields of employment.
 
After a continental breakfast, we plan to break into trade-specific classrooms to discuss the training practices in individual trades, industry standards, weaknesses and strengths, and new training for each trade. If your company has openings or possible future openings, we would like you to talk to our students about possible employment opportunities. We have about 70 students from different trades, but all students will visit each area to learn about your company and employment.
