Professional Disc Golf World Championships at Ivy Hill and New London Tech Disc Course!
The PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships will take place in the region for the first time from August 21-25, marking the 42nd running of the event. Nearly 300 players from 14 countries, including two-time defending champion Kristin Tattar from Estonia, are set to compete. The event, presented by Zuca, will be hosted by the City of Lynchburg, Bedford County, and Runk & Pratt, with support from tournament director Nate Heinold and the Ledgestone Disc Golf group.
The competition will be held across two locations: Ivy Hill Golf Club in Forest, VA, known for its elevation changes and hazards, and New London Tech Disc Golf Course in Bedford County, a wooded course designed by six-time PDGA World Champion Paul McBeth. The event will culminate with the crowning of two PDGA World Champions on August 25.
This championship is expected to attract over 4,000 spectators daily and generate an estimated $3.5 million in economic impact. This is a significant milestone for the sport, our region and the state of Virginia.
