Prelude to Invasion- Living History Event and Scout Day
If you have ever been curious about the uniforms, history, tactics, gear, weapons, or morale of U.S. servicemen and the Allies during the turbulent period leading up to D-Day, here is your opportunity to learn more. See history recreated through World War II era encampments, live 1940s era radio broadcasts, meet with WWII veterans, and more.
This event is also serves as the annual Scout Day. Admission for registered scouts and scout leaders is $4. Scout troops will have the opportunity to earn a National D-Day Memorial patch and a Boy Scout merit badge. The Boy Scout merit badge program, “Scouting Heritage,” is offered during this event for an additional fee of $4 per registered Boy Scout. Scout leaders are free. Advance registration is required and the merit badge opportunity is limited to twenty Boy Scouts.
