The July 4 Independence Day Celebration at Patrick Henry's Red Hill
Would you like to experience Independence Day on the same ground as America’s first patriot? Come spend this Fourth of July at the garden spot of the world, Patrick Henry’s Red Hill!
Events begin at 3:00 PM with fireworks at dusk and the gate closing at 9:00 PM.
Events include:
Historical Interpretations of the buildings and a chance to try your hands at living history
Paul Younger of Gladys demonstrates basket weaving, from tree to basket
Live Band to start at 4:00 p.m. featuring Dixie Ridge
Patrick Henry will be here to deliver his “Give me Liberty, or Give me Death” speech at 7:00 p.m.
Face Painting and Kids’ Games available for all ages
Food by Charlotte County Lions Club and Midway Baptist Church; Kettle Corn/Cotton Candy by the Clark Boys Fireworks Show starting at dusk.
The fireworks are being brought to you by Wells Fargo and the Patrick Henry Memorial Foundation.
Bring your lawn chairs or blankets to comfortably watch Patrick Henry give his speech at 7:00 and to watch the fantastic fireworks display at 9:15. You might also want to bring a flashlight to aide you after dark. Please do NOT bring any alcohol, personal fireworks (including sparklers), grills, or pets; for safety reasons, all these are prohibited. There will be no re-entry after 5:00 PM! Patrick Henry’s Red Hill, America’s first patriot’s home and burial site is the perfect place to celebrate being an American! Step back in time with us and help us celebrate Independence Day this July 4th!
