United Way Day of Caring
It's that time of year again! We hope that you have lots of projects that need to be done for this year's Day of Caring. And yes, ANY organization with a non-profit status in Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Campbell and Lynchburg may register to have their needs fulfilled by volunteers all across Central Virginia!
Registration for agency needs is officially open. (Volunteer registration will open March 27th). We will be using the GetConnected platform again for registration. This is a great tool to allow both the agencies and volunteers to sign up in one place. It is pretty user-friendly, but can get a little confusing. If you are familiar with the platform, you can go ahead and start adding needs to the 2022 Day of Caring Event. If not, you can either view this quick tutorial video or if you need more details, you can download step-by-step instructions of how to add needs to our site!
PLEASE NOTE: You must hit "My Agency" first and then "Advanced Events" to be taken to the Day of Caring needs page. Do not hit "Needs" first on the left-hand tab. This will register you for Ongoing Needs only and your need will NOT show up in the Day of Caring page. (see instructions below or view video.)
This year will look like the years in the past with a day-long event, t-shirts for all participants, and lunch at the Bank of the James/Hillcats Stadium provided by Sodexco! We know you are all ready to get back to it and so are we!
Needs can be anything from painting and landscaping, to office work and everything in-between! Please make sure the title and description of your needs is very detailed, as this is what volunteers see when signing up for your needs.
This may get confusing, but the United Way staff is here to help you. Please contact Dawn Wise, Director of Community Engagement, if you need immediate assistance. dawn.wise@unitedwaycv.org or at 434-455-6900.
