Women's History Month- "Propaganda and Poetry: the Wartime Writings of Edna St. Vincent Millay"
National D-Day Memorial Foundation president April Cheek-Messier will mark Women’s History Month with a talk on “Propaganda and Poetry: The Wartime Writings of Edna St. Vincent Millay.” A pacifist in World War I, prior to the Second World War, Millay become so concerned about the threat of fascism that she became an outspoken proponent of American intervention, and during the war a celebrated poet - some said propagandist - for the Writer’s War Board. Come learn more about this captivating author and her contributions to the war effort. This event will be held in the Community Room at the Bedford Area Welcome Center. Guests are welcome to bring their lunch. Free admission though donations are appreciated will help support future educational programming.
