3rd Annual Tribute to the Quarter Place Community

The Patrick Henry Memorial Foundation cordially invites you to join us for our 3rd annual Tribute to the Quarter Place Community, an event created to honor the legacies of the African American community once enslaved at Red Hill. The Tribute will be held on October 5th from 11 :00 am-3:30 pm. Doors open at 10:00 am.

Our opening ceremony will begin at 11 :00 am at the Quarter Place Cemetery where 14 7 members of the Quarter Place African American community are buried. Following the opening ceremony, we will have a wide variety of opportunities for our guests to learn more about African American history at Red Hill, as well as more information local African American history and culture. This event will include historical presentations by Red Hill staff members, song selections provided by jazz trio "Jackson, Pendergrass, and Townsend," local African
American crafts venders, educational booths from other Virginia museums, and more.

The Tribute event is free to the public. Lunch will be provided at 12:30 pm. Lunch
tickets are $5.00 per person and can be purchased on our website. For more
