AMG, Inc. Acquires L&R Precision Tooling and Manufacturing
AMG, Inc., a precision machining and fabrication company with over 47 years in business, recently acquired L&R Precision Tooling and Manufacturing. Their full team of over 140 employees along with their expanded footprint will ensure robust quality systems that expand service offerings and maintain the same level of service excellence that AMG customers are accustomed to.
Both located in the Lynchburg area, the two businesses have more than just their location in common. “We saw the opportunity to acquire a business that puts its people first, just as we do,” said Greg Morris, President at AMG. Of the 419 employees that AMG has hired in their 47 years in business, 143 of them remain with the company today; a true testament to the way that they invest in their workforce. Like AMG, L&R is an ESOP company and employees understand the impact their work has on the company’s share value. “While they were certainly a competitor of ours, we have always had a great deal of respect for the L&R team and their high level of ethics,” said Morris. All L&R employees are now part of the AMG team in their existing roles and were seamlessly transitioned into the AMG career ladders.
