Freedom First Credit Union is excited to announce the addition of Robert Natt as Vice President of Public Affairs and Community Development. Robert’s focus will be on helping improve the financial wellbeing of our members and communities through advocacy in public policy, as well as programs and community initiatives that address the needs of our members.

Robert has held both public and private sector roles including those with Carilion Clinic, Radford University, The Roanoke Valley-Alleghany Regional Commission, and his own firm, Robert Natt Productions. He has served as a board member for multiple nonprofit organizations, including two terms as President of the Partnership for Community Wellness.

In his new position at Freedom First, Robert will use his extensive experience in growth strategy and social impact to work collaboratively with external partners and positively advance the Credit Union’s mission of “Helping People Prosper – Helping Communities Thrive”. “Robert’s experience and passion for the community will help strengthen our ability to attract and deploy capital through mission-aligned programs that benefit our members and the communities we serve,” said Paul Phillips, President/CEO of Freedom First.

Robert holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Commercial Media and Communication from James Madison University, a Master of Science degree in Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Certificate in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He is also an accomplished musician and enjoys playing guitar in his free time.

Robert will be based in Roanoke to serve our members in this vital role.
