ROANOKE, Va. (JULY 1, 2026) – The Virginia law firm Gentry Locke is pleased to announce that its Managing Partner K. Brett Marston has completed his year-long term as the 87th President of the Virginia State Bar and now serves as immediate past president.
“It has been an honor to serve as the 87th President of the Virginia State Bar,” said Marston while reflecting on his year of service. “Gentry Locke has always encouraged its attorneys to take on bar leadership, and I am glad that I did. Leading the VSB’s strategic efforts, getting to meet with fellow bar leaders and members, and representing Virginia attorneys at national and regional meetings this year have been an honor. Our focus on how Virginia Lawyers Make a Difference and doing so with a CAN DO! approach has provided a cogent way to remind our members and the public about the positive roles and impacts that attorneys can and do have in our communities and around the world.”
"We are incredibly proud of Brett’s accomplishments during this past year. He has led the Virginia State Bar with integrity, judgment, and genuine dedication to advancing the profession. Brett’s leadership of the Bar is a shining example of our firm’s longstanding commitment to service and leadership within the legal profession,” said Monica Taylor Monday, Chair of Gentry Locke’s Executive Board.
