FLY LYH UPDATE: Expanded Connectivity Through Washington Dulles & Chicago

Beginning in September, United/SkyWest is adjusting flight schedules for Lynchburg Regional Airport (LYH), continuing service to both Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD).

The updated schedule is expected to provide additional early-morning connectivity through Washington Dulles while maintaining direct access to Chicago O’Hare — strengthening regional access for business travelers, residents, and visitors alike.

Preliminary schedule observations indicate travelers may benefit from improved same-day connection opportunities through United’s broader network, including earlier arrival options into Chicago and other domestic and international destinations.

Reliable regional air service remains an important component of Lynchburg’s economic competitiveness, workforce mobility, tourism access, and business connectivity.

Additional schedule analysis is underway as LYH and regional partners continue reviewing day-to-day flight timing updates for fall operations.
