Lynchburg, VA – 9/11/25 – United Way of Central Virginia has been awarded a coveted 4-Star
Rating from Charity Navigator and the Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid—the
highest designations offered by the nation’s leading evaluators of nonprofits.
 
These honors place United Way of Central Virginia among a select group of nonprofits nationwide
recognized for exceptional accountability, transparency, and stewardship of donor contributions.
 
• Charity Navigator’s 4-Star Rating is reserved for organizations that exceed industry
standards and demonstrate strong financial health, accountability, and leadership.
• Candid’s Platinum Seal of Transparency is its highest level of recognition, highlighting
organizations that openly share comprehensive information about their operations, impact,
and outcomes with donors and the public.
