Virginian Welcomes Seasoned Hospitality Leader as New General Manager

A veteran hospitality leader with over three decades of experience. Toby F. Tomko joined The Virginian Hotel in April 2024. In his role as General Manager. Tomko oversees all aspects or the property/day-to­day operations including management of the hotel's leadership team and more than 80 employees. 

Tomko's extensive experience spans the hospitality sector leading prestigious hotel. resort. and private country club properties. Tomko gained a deep passion for elevated guest experiences from his tenure at The Ritz Carlton Hotel Company, which he parlayed to high member engagement and satisfaction at high-end private country clubs including Gibson Island Club & Corp, Keswick Club, Philadelphia County Club. and Oakland Hills Country Club. 

Tomko studied business administration. and later in his career, taught hospitality management courses at Missouri State University. Before moving lo Lynchburg where his wife was raised. Tomko was involved in several charitable endeavors including serving various Board or Director roles for local chapters or the Club Management Association of America (CMAA). on the Board of Director's or a local children's museum. and organizations that help people in need. 

He looks forward to continuing The Virginian Hotel's reputation or providing rich experiences to its guests and local businesses, charities, and universities. as well as becoming involved in the Lynchburg community.
