The YMCA of Central Virginia is excited to announce the opening of its new early learning program, Little Scholars Academy, starting Fall 2024. Located at West Lynchburg Baptist Church, this innovative preschool is designed for children ages 3-4, offering a nurturing and enriching environment that fosters early childhood development.

At the YMCA, we believe that healthy child development starts early, which is why we offer programs that help children learn the essential skills they need to be ready for school. Little Scholars Academy uses the STREAMin3 curriculum, an evidence-based model developed by the University of Virginia. This curriculum integrates Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math, alongside five Core Skills—Relate, Regulate, Think, Communicate, and Move—preparing children for success in kindergarten and beyond. Our dedicated, licensed educators are committed to creating an engaging atmosphere that encourages exploration, creativity, and problem-solving.
