HR for Nonprofits: Best Practices that Work -
Research on high performance work systems (HPWS) has demonstrated that good Human Resource Management (HRM) practices can have a direct impact on organizational performance and critical employee outcomes, such as employee engagement and turnover. This session will introduce participants to this strategic HRM framework. Drawing on a seven-state study of small nonprofit organizations, participants will examine which HRM practices had the most significant impact. The session will also focus on highlighting best practices that emerged from case studies of the top 16 nonprofits (highest performers). Participants will leave the class with tools to help improve HR practices. This workshop is co-sponsored by Council of United Way Agencies. their organization.
