The Salvation Army Lynchburg Corps Seeks Community Support for Cold Weather Shelter
Lynchburg, VA — With temperatures expected to drop into the mid-10s over the next few nights, The Salvation Army Lynchburg Corps, in partnership with the City of Lynchburg, has already opened its Cold Weather Shelter to provide a warm and safe place for our most vulnerable and unhoused neighbors. However, we need extra help from our community to ensure we can continue meeting this urgent need.
We are urgently seeking donations of towels, all-white sheets, and bleach to support the operation of our Cold Weather Shelter. These essential items will help us maintain a clean, welcoming, and functional environment for those seeking refuge from the frigid conditions.
Donations can be dropped off January 7 and 8, between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM at The Salvation Army Lynchburg Corps, located at 2215 Park Ave, Lynchburg, VA 24501.
"The support of the Lynchburg community has always been our strength," said Miki McGarry, Development Director. "Together, we can ensure that our neighbors in need have a warm place to rest during these dangerously cold nights."
